Black Peplum Top and Sun Yellow Palazzo

The same look the executives wear to the bold boardroom finds a different life on Sunday. The boardroom version is structured, controlled, photographed for LinkedIn. The Sunday version is the same fabric, the same line, and a different woman wearing them.

The black peplum sharpens the waist; the sun yellow palazzo softens the rest. We cut the Sunday version in a lighter weight crepe so the palazzo moves more freely and the peplum sits with less structure at the hip, which is what a Sunday silhouette needs. The button row is still there, six down the side, but the buttons are matte instead of polished, the kind of detail nobody notices until they do.

A client of mine wears this to brunch at her usual spot in Lekki on the second Sunday of every month. Her friends recognise the table by the trousers from across the restaurant. That is the kind of recognition the soft life is for: not the room turning, the room knowing. The waiters know what she is drinking. The hostess knows where she is sitting. The trousers do the introduction.
