Ivory Tailored Blazer Suit

A Director took the corner office at her firm last March and asked me for a wardrobe she could rotate without thinking on Monday mornings. We started with this suit.

Ivory because most of her peers wear black or navy and she wanted to be the woman the partners noticed before they noticed the agenda. The blazer is hand tailored in a wool silk blend, soft enough to drape from the shoulder without shoulder pads doing the work, structured enough to hold its shape through a twelve hour day. The trousers are straight and full to the floor with a deep hem that will let her recut them in two years without rebuilding the suit. We lined the jacket in pale gold silk, an internal signal nobody else can see, which is the kind of detail that matters more than it should.

She has worn it to seventeen meetings since pickup. Three of them ended with a yes she had been chasing for months. She told me afterwards that the suit gave her the patience to wait the meetings out, which is the part of the wardrobe people rarely talk about.
