Olive Peplum and Tulle Skirt

The same client who buys my olive peplum for work asked for a version she could wear to the company gala without changing accessories. She had three black tie events in a quarter and was tired of the floor length dress, the heel, the earring, the bag, the woman she became when she wore them.

So we kept the peplum she already wore on Wednesdays and swapped the trousers for an olive tulle skirt with enough volume to read across the ballroom but not enough to need a separate car. The bodice carries small embellishments at the hip that catch the light when she turns. The skirt is layered in three depths, weighted at the hem so it stays where she sets it when she sits to dinner. The neckline did not change. The earring she wears to work is the earring she wore to the gala.

She wore this to her firm's twentieth anniversary dinner. The photograph went up on the company LinkedIn the next morning. Two of her colleagues thought she had changed her hair.
