Sunset Print Sleeveless Peplum and Espresso Trouser

The same sunset print, in a different shape, for a different day. A client asked me to make her one in this fabric after she saw it on a friend at a wedding. She did not want the same dress. She wanted the same fabric in something she could wear on a Saturday that did not feel like an event.

So we built a sleeveless peplum, ruched at the side, paired with an espresso wide leg trouser she already owned in her wardrobe rotation. The print does the talking; the silhouette stays calm. The bodice sits close through the rib with a single back zip; the peplum is gathered at the seam so it reads soft instead of structured. The trouser brings the look back to neutral so the print does not become the entire wardrobe.

It now lives in her Saturday rotation. She told me she wears it more than she wears jeans, which I did not expect, which is the way these things go. The next print we cut for her will probably arrive in the same shape. That is the compliment a stylist learns to read.
