White Side Button Top and Cobalt Palazzo

The boardroom version of this look, softened for Sunday. The boardroom version is crepe, fitted, photographed. The Sunday version is the same idea built in viscose, which is the cheapest design decision in a wardrobe and the one that translates a piece from one room to another.

The white side button top is the same crisp construction, six buttons set asymmetrically down the side, but in viscose instead of crepe, so it sits more relaxed at the waist and reads as a Sunday silhouette rather than a Wednesday one. The cobalt palazzo is the same pleated, generous trouser, cut from the same bolt of weighted crepe so the colour is identical when the two versions are photographed side by side, which a client of mine has now done for Instagram.

A client wears the boardroom version to work and the soft life version to her sister's birthday. Same idea, different intensity. Both photograph beautifully. She told me the soft version makes her sister jealous, which is the kind of feedback a stylist takes as a result.
